Finnish lifestyle brand Marimekko is taking its bold, colorful designs to new corners of Southeast Asia, Fashion Network reports.

The company plans to open its first stores in Indonesia and the Philippines in summer 2026, marking a significant expansion in the region.

In Jakarta, Marimekko will launch through a franchise partnership with PT. Panen Lestari Indonesia, part of the MAP Group.

In the Philippines, the brand will debut via four shop-in-shop locations within premium department stores operated by Rustan Commercial Corporation.

“Indonesia’s rapidly growing market offers exciting opportunities… The Philippines is also an attractive developing market,” said Natacha Defrance, Marimekko’s senior VP for East region sales.

Already present in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, Marimekko currently operates 24 stores in Southeast Asia.

By the end of 2025, the brand had 94 stores and shop-in-shops across the Asia-Pacific region.
