
A potential new education link between Finland and the Philippines is taking shape after a meeting between Finnish officials and Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) on April 16, 2026.
The Finnish Embassy in the Philippines expressed interest in academic cooperation during a visit to the university in Davao City, Sun Star Davao reports.
The delegation introduced Finland’s education system, which is consistently ranked among the world’s best, and presented the Team Finland Knowledge Programme. The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation between Finnish higher education institutions and selected partner countries.
Both sides discussed possible areas of collaboration, including academic exchange, research, and new models for educational partnerships.
The meeting brought together university leaders and representatives from education and international cooperation networks in Davao.
HCDC, which is marking its 75th year, said it continues to expand its international links and focus on global partnerships. The university highlighted its commitment to quality education and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly on education and international cooperation.
