Finnish food-tech companies eye expansion in Thailand

The Embassy of Finland in Bangkok has invited Finnish FoodTech and agri-food technology companies to join a business visit to Thailand from 26 to 28 May 2026. The programme is aimed at companies seeking partnerships, pilot projects and market entry opportunities in the region, Finland Abroad reports.

Thailand is one of the world’s top agricultural exporters and has set a national goal to become a “Global Hub for Future Food”, focusing on plant-based proteins, insect protein and new food technologies.

According to the organisers, Finnish expertise in areas such as food safety, smart packaging and sustainable processing could match Thailand’s growing demand for greener and more efficient solutions.

The visit will include meetings with major Thai food groups, innovation hubs and government agencies, as well as participation in THAIFEX–Anuga Asia, one of Asia’s largest food trade fairs.

The initiative follows a Thai delegation’s visit to Helsinki for Slush 2025, signalling growing Nordic–Thai cooperation in food innovation.
