A Finnish national has been arrested in Phnom Penh after a knife attack that left two people injured on Saturday 20 September 2025.

According to Khmer Times and Fresh News, the incident took place at Condo Belle 3 in Chroy Changvar District, where 47-year-old Finnish citizen Marko Antero Rantapaa attacked a Cambodian man and a woman with two knives. Both victims sustained serious injuries.

Local reports suggest the violence started after a dispute over an unpaid tuk-tuk fare. When a receptionist at the condominium refused to lend him money, the suspect attacked her and security guards who tried to intervene.

The Phnom Penh Military Police confirmed that officers were called through the emergency hotline and quickly subdued the man at the scene. He has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Bureau for further legal procedures.
