‘For a liveable Hanoi’ initiative bears its fruits

On 27 April 2021 the Danish embassy in Vietnam followed up on ‘Liveable Hanoi’, an initiative to improve migrant communities and the result has come about, the statement reads:

“What is Hanoi like in your eyes?” was a question raised in a photovoice activity by the “For a Livable Hanoi” alliance.

Over the past few months, more than 30 migrant workers participated in this photovoice. Some of them have never had a mobile phone or taken a photo. They have, however, all managed to take interesting and unique photos in different corners of Hanoi and use the photos to tell moving stories of their daily lives, observations, and feelings towards Hanoi city.

The photovoice aims to highlight that migrant workers are an integral part of Hanoi’s development and the city should thus be made more livable and inclusive for them all.

The photovoice is part of a Danish-supported project on “Inclusive city: making Hanoi livable for the most marginalized groups of migrant workers” implemented by the Centre for Community Empowerment on behalf of the “For a Livable Hanoi” alliance.
