An Icelandic tourist was found dead on Koh Larn near Pattaya on 2 May, in a case police are treating as a suspected suicide.

The 56-year-old man was discovered hanging from a tree near Nuan Beach in Chonburi province. Authorities identified him as Joseph Alexander McBride.

Police and rescue teams were called to the scene in the morning, where the body was found in an upright position. A head wound on the forehead was also noted and will be examined further.

A backpack containing medication for heart disease and high blood pressure was found nearby. Investigators believe the man may have been under stress linked to chronic health issues.

Witnesses said the man had been seen sitting near the area the evening before. The body has been sent for autopsy, and authorities say the exact cause of death will be confirmed following further forensic examination.

Probably Irish not Icelandic. I am Icelandic and Joseph Alexander McBride is not a Icelandic name.
