Danish toy giant Lego Group says it has no regrets about investing in Vietnam.

Jesper Hassellund Mikkelsen, senior vice-president of Asia Operations at the company, says Lego sees strong growth potential in Southeast Asia and Vietnam’s focus on green energy as key reasons behind the investment, according to Tuoi Tre.

The comments were made during a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City with Deputy Chairman Nguyen Cong Vinh and Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolai Prytz.

Green growth focus

Lego’s US$1.3 billion factory near Ho Chi Minh City has been operating since 2025 and currently employs nearly 1,000 workers.

The site is part of the company’s global expansion and exports products across the region, including to the Philippines and Australia.

Lego is also aiming to run the factory on 100% renewable energy, with a solar system expected to be fully operational soon.
