Maersk Line has been represented in Myanmar for the past 20 years but new a permanent representative is being stationed. The permanent representative will be My Therese Blank who has been in Maersk Line since 2006.

The company sees opportunities in Myanmar since the country is strategically well placed between the big economies of the region such as India and China. With 60 million people, the company also believes that Myanmar can become a very big consumer market and that the low wages can attract many foreign companies to the country.
