AP Moller–Maersk has opened its largest contract logistics centre in Asia Pacific — the Maersk Mega Distribution Centre (Mega DC) — located in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

Covering nearly 180,000 square metres and offering 100,000 pallet positions, the new facility increases Maersk’s presence in Malaysia by more than 30 percent. The multi-client distribution centre is designed to handle a wide range of products, including fast-moving consumer goods, food and beverages, footwear, and apparel.

“Domestic consumption has remained dynamic, and we see growing opportunities to support companies across various industrial sectors in Malaysia. Thanks to the shared resources at this multi-client centre, we can offer greater cost efficiency and operational agility, enabling our customers to seamlessly expand their storage and distribution capacity, especially during peak demand periods,” says Elaine Low, Managing Director for Southeast Asia at Maersk.

The centre is strategically located with direct access to major highways, Port Klang, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and the industrial zones of the Klang Valley. It is also about 340 kilometres from the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Maersk’s main transshipment hub in Asia.
