Marina Bay launches December programme for New Year celebrations

Singapore will mark the end of the SG60 year with a series of public activities at Marina Bay throughout December. The programme culminates in a large New Year’s Eve fireworks display, offering an option for Nordic expats and visitors who will be spending the holiday season in Singapore.

According to the organisers, the festivities include nightly light projections, outdoor installations and live performances. The facades of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and UOB Plaza 1 will feature artworks created by artists from the local organisation ART:DIS. The projections will run daily towards the end of December.

Bayfront Event Space will host Togetherland, a large outdoor fair opening on 11 December and continuing into the new year. Visitors can explore food stalls, attractions and family-friendly activities.

Esplanade will also present a series of free music performances by local artists throughout December.

On New Year’s Eve, the fireworks show “ELYSIUM” is planned as part of an hour-long musical programme around Marina Bay. The fireworks display itself will last around 30 minutes from 11pm.

Authorities note that access around Marina Bay may be regulated due to crowds, and visitors are advised to use public transport during the festivities.
