Arriva Shipping, a Norwegian dry cargo specialist, has placed an order for a new dry cargo vessel with the Huanghai Shipbuilding Company in China. The vessel is expected to be delivered in late 2026, adding to Arriva’s growing fleet that serves various cargo routes across Europe and Asia.
The new vessel will be equipped with modern technology and designed to meet stringent environmental standards, reflecting Arriva’s commitment to sustainable shipping practices. It will feature a highly efficient hull design and advanced cargo handling capabilities to cater to diverse client needs.
This latest order reinforces the strong maritime relationship between Norway and China, with Norwegian companies increasingly turning to Chinese shipyards for vessel construction due to their competitive pricing and technical expertise.
Arriva Shipping, headquartered in Ølensvåg, Norway, has operated in the dry cargo market since 1972. The company’s fleet consists primarily of self-discharging vessels, which allow for efficient operations in ports with limited infrastructure.
The new vessel will be built at Huanghai Shipbuilding Company’s facility in Shandong province, known for constructing specialized vessels for international clients.
