Last year, Norway approved 95 percent of all visa applications filed by Thai nationals, according to recent data from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI). The figures highlight the strong travel and cultural connections between the two countries.
Out of 14,259 visa applications submitted by Thai citizens, 13,546 were approved and 713 were rejected. Thai nationals made up nearly half of all visa applications received by Norway last year, which totaled 30,069 applications.
The substantial numb er of visa applications reflects the continued interest in travel between Thailand and Norway, particularly for tourism, family visits, and business purposes.
Alongside Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam were also among the top countries of origin for visa applicants to Norway in 2024.
