Norwegian energy data and intelligence company TGS has been awarded a large offshore streamer contract in Indonesia, covering an area of approximately 10,000 square kilometers.

The survey is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 and is expected to last around eight months. Most of the work will focus on 3D seismic data acquisition for exploration, while the final phase of about one month will involve 4D seismic data for production monitoring.

TGS will deploy a purpose-built Ramform vessel equipped with its proprietary GeoStreamer technology. The company said this ensures high-quality data collection while maintaining industry-leading efficiency. “This contract secures utilization well into Q3 2026,” noted TGS CEO Kristian Johansen.

The Indonesia contract comes shortly after TGS secured another streamer acquisition project in the East Mediterranean earlier in August, highlighting the company’s expanding presence in key offshore markets.
