Norwegian Embassy took a trip to Inle Lake

Embassy of Norway in Myanmar together with its implementing partner United Nations Development Programme (UNPD) and the Myanmar Institute for Integrated Development (MIID) took a field trip to Inle Lake, Myanmar’s second largest fresh water lake located in Shan State.

Taking place around May 20-24, 2019, the trip provided the participants with updates about programs and activities in the area funded by Norway. The participants were also introduced to the challenges of the lake communities by key stakeholders.

The overall objective of the visit was to affirm the well-coordinated effort and management between Norway and other organizations relating to Inle Lake as well as to assist in tackling environmental, social and economic issues in the lake watershed.
