Norwegian Embassy welcomes new Ambassador to Thailand

The Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok gave a warm welcome to the new Ambassador H.E. Ms. Kjersti Rødsmoen, who formally took up her duties as the Ambassador of Norway to Thailand on 5 December 2018.

“I will spare no effort in my work to further strengthen the friendly relations between our two countries and promote broader cooperation in the fields of politics, culture, the environment and trade,” the new Ambassador writes in her greeting on the Embassy’s website.

Kjersti Rødsmoen started her career in the Norwegian Foreign Service in 1988 with her most recent position being head of the Latin America Section at the Ministry in Oslo.

Previously she has been posted twice to the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations in New York and at the Norwegian Embassy in Mexico.

The new Ambassador was born in Singapore and has a business degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration as well as studies from Columbia University in New York and the Executive Course of the Norwegian National Defense College.

Kjersti Rødsmoen is married and has two children.
