The Norwegian Seamen’s Church in Pattaya warmly invites everyone to participate in a series of festive Christmas and New Year events throughout December.
The Norwegian Seamen’s Church Christmas events
On Sunday, December 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the church will hold its third Advent service. Evy Brun, the seasonal pastor, will lead the service, accompanied by music from organist Fabrice Pitrois. Attendees can also enjoy beautiful singing by Oddrun M. Hyttedalen, adding a melodic touch to the occasion. As the holiday season approaches, the church emphasizes the themes of preparation and hope. “In the darkness, the Morning Star rises in our hearts,” says the invitation, capturing the spirit of Advent. Following the service, all are welcome to partake in church coffee, and the Seamen’s Church will remain open until 4:00 p.m. on Sundays throughout the high season, fostering community engagement.
On Tuesday, December 17, at 6:00 p.m., the church will host “Singing in Christmas” with the children from Baan Jing Jai. This event promises to be a heartwarming Christmas experience, featuring delightful songs and dances performed by the children, familiar Christmas carols, and delicious food from the church kitchen. Tickets are priced at THB 400 for adults and THB 300 for children aged 5-12. Also proceeds will benefit the children’s home.
On Thursday, December 26, at 8:00 a.m., the church will organize a Christmas Cruise to Koh Pai, a beautiful island west of Koh Larn. Attendees can enjoy sunbathing, snorkeling, and a delicious dinner served on the boat, with coffee and cakes provided on the return trip. The cruise will depart from Bali Hai Pier at 8:00 a.m. A minimum of 20 participants is required; otherwise, the cruise will be canceled, and deposits will be refunded.

Finally, on Tuesday, December 31, at 7:00 p.m., the church will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a festive meal featuring pinnekjøtt, grilled dishes with delicious sides, and Thai food. The evening will include fun activities and singing. A New Year’s service will begin at 6:00 p.m., and the celebration will continue until around 10:00 p.m., culminating in a gathering on the beach to enjoy the fireworks. Pricing for the New Year’s celebration will be THB 500 for adults and THB 300 for children aged 6-12.
