The Philippines has taken the top spot worldwide for outsourcing talent.

A new report from Ataraxis ranks the country as number one out of 193 nations in its Global Outsourcing Talent Index, Business Mirror reports – referring to skilled workers hired from other countries to perform tasks for a company remotely or externally.

The Philippines offers strong English skills, a large talent pool and low costs – all at the same time.

According to the report, it is the only country scoring within the top 10 percent globally for both English proficiency and talent availability, while also ranking among the top 5 percent for cost savings.

In comparison, Malaysia came second, followed closely by India. Chile and South Africa rounded out the top five.

The Philippines scored 90 in English proficiency, placing it on par with countries like Ireland and Switzerland. This is significantly higher than India, which scored 60.

Digital infrastructure is also improving. The report notes strong connectivity in key cities such as Manila, Cebu and Davao. More than 70 percent of the population is now online.

At the same time, the industry is changing.

The Philippines is moving beyond traditional voice services. More companies are now using Filipino workers for roles such as data analysis, bookkeeping and healthcare support.
