Danish former boxing champion Mikkel Kessler and his wife Lea Kessler are currently stranded in Kuala Lumpur with their four children after unrest in the Middle East disrupted air traffic.
The family wrote on Instagram that the trip had started as an extended winter holiday. It has now turned into a month-long stay in Asia and could continue until the Easter holiday.
According to the post, the family first traveled to the Maldives. Flight disruptions linked to the unrest later brought them to Malaysia.
The Kesslers wrote that the situation has been frustrating, but also gave them time together and new experiences. They added that being stranded because of war had put the trip into perspective.
