On 12 November 2016, the  Norwegian Church Abroad in Pattaya will organise their 7th cycling tour. This trip will be 675 km with hilly terrain in the north of Thailand.

Saturday, 30 Scandinavians will gather in Chiang Mai; 26 Norwegians, three Swedes and a Dane. This year, only males will be participating, and they all know each other from the Norwegian Seaman’s Church in Pattaya.

There are seven daily stages with start and finish in Chiang Mai. For those who have not had enough, it is possible to ride up to the highest mountain in Thailand, Doi Inthanon, on the eighth day (19 November). Buses will be ready to drive those who have had enough up the 2565 meter high mountain.

For the past seven years, the Scandinavian cyclists have been over most of Thailand. Last year’s trip was 800 kilometers long and ran from Ayutthaya to Korat.

2014’s biking trip took place in Southern Thailand with 700 kilometers starting in Surat Thani and ending in Krabi.

In the years before this, the trips were as follows: Mekong, Eastern Seaboard and Nong Khao Surin. The first trip was organised in 2010 and went from Pattaya to Had Lek on Cambodia’s border.

The price for the entire trip is 13,500 baht. The participant list for this year is already fully booked, so those who like the idea of a trip can register their interest for next year’s outing.
