Scandinavian Christmas service and juleskål in Bangkok December 24

Scandinavian Christmas service

A Scandinavian Christmas service will take place at Christ Church in Bangkok on Tuesday, December 24th, at 1:00 PM. The event invites Danes, Swedes, Norwegians, and Finns to gather and celebrate the holiday season within the Scandinavian community in Thailand through shared traditions.

The Christmas service will feature participation from pastors Olof Olsson (S), Jyrki Markkanen (SF), and Nicolaj Stubbe Hørlyck (DK), who will lead the congregation in prayer and reflection. Music will accompany the service, with performances from Thai musicians, including flutist Khun Cecilio Songsak Ngamsri and organist Khun Morakot Cherdchoo-ngram, performing on Thailand’s only acoustic organ. Danish jazz saxophonist Jakob Dinesen and vocalist Yasmin Kierkegaard are also scheduled to perform.

Following the service, the gathering will continue as the Thai Nordic Association serves Gløgg, a warm spiced Nordic mulled wine, and Æbleskiver, traditional Danish pancake balls. This Juleskål celebration offers attendees the opportunity to socialize and exchange holiday greetings while enjoying Nordic delicacies.
