Slush Academy announced

Slush Academy was announced during the opening ceremony of the Finnish startup and investor event Slush in Helsinki on 4 December.

Slush Academy will start out as a summer program for the 10–30 most entrepreneurial students from the top universities of Europe, Asia and North America, according to Slush.

The students will have access to internships and mentoring in growth companies and former startups that have grown to be large players.

Slush Academy will happen in cooperation with a number of universities, that in Southeast Asia includes Singapore University of Technology and Design.

Slush Academy is scheduled to start in 2019, and will be gradually scaled up to a full program. It will be free of charge for the students.

In 2018, over 3,100 startups, 1,800 investors, and 650 journalists from over 130 countries gathered to Slush in Helsinki.

Slush started in 2008 in Helsinki. This year, Slush has also arranged events in Tokyo, Shanghai and Singapore.
