Sweden is stepping up its engagement with the Philippines’ infrastructure ambitions, as Swedish institutions and business leaders joined the Luzon Economic Corridor Investment Forum and Expo.
The Swedish delegation, known as Team Sweden, brought together the Embassy of Sweden, Business Sweden, Sida, Swedfund, the Swedish Export Credit Agency, the Swedish Export Credit Corporation and the International Council of Swedish Industry, alongside representatives from the Swedish private sector.
Sweden has been a partner in the Luzon Economic Corridor since 2025. The corridor is intended to strengthen connectivity and economic competitiveness across Luzon, the Philippines’ largest island and home to the capital Manila.
At the forum, Swedish representatives presented what they described as a combined Swedish offer for infrastructure investment, covering feasibility studies, technical capacity-building, risk assessment and financing.
The approach is intended to help prepare projects, reduce investment risks and support long-term sustainability, while creating opportunities for Swedish companies to contribute technology and expertise.
The Swedish Embassy said the engagement reflects Sweden’s focus on combining green innovation with Philippine development priorities under the banner of “Made with Sweden.”
The Luzon Economic Corridor is part of wider efforts to attract investment and improve infrastructure in the Philippines, making it a potential area for increased Swedish commercial engagement in the country.
