Sweden is serving as Country of Honor at this year’s China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

A Swedish delegation led by Minister for Rural Affairs and Infrastructure Peter Kullgren is attending the event from 5–10 November. Major companies including SKF, Scania, Epiroc, Elekta, and Ericsson are exhibiting.

Ulf Pehrsson, chairperson of the Sweden-China Trade Council, said Swedish firms remain committed to China.

“Many of our members have long-time experience operating in China and they are all convinced not only of the importance of being in China but are often expanding their engagement, not least in innovation and R&D.”

Green transition cooperation is expected to be a key theme, following the launch of a joint working group on green investment earlier this year.

Pehrsson also underlined the value of open trade.

“There are no winners in protectionism or trade wars.”
