Swedish engineering and design company AFRY has been selected as International Technical Advisor for the 1.5 GW Thai Binh LNG-to-Power project in Hung Yen, Vietnam.
AFRY will provide technical advisory services covering both offshore and onshore infrastructure throughout the project’s development.
The scope includes infrastructure for receiving liquefied natural gas (LNG), subsea gas pipeline systems, marine facilities, offshore surveys and the combined-cycle power plant (CCPP). The infrastructure will connect to a floating LNG terminal, which will supply natural gas to the planned 1.5 GW power plant.
The project comes as Vietnam faces growing electricity demand and seeks to expand its power generation capacity and LNG infrastructure.

For AFRY, the assignment also expands its involvement in Southeast Asia’s energy sector.

The project will integrate a floating LNG terminal with the 1.5 GW power plant, creating an LNG-to-power development in Vietnam.
