Fifteen young Danish professionals will travel to Shanghai this month to represent Denmark at WorldSkills 2026, according to the Embassy of Denmark in China.

The international skills competition will take place from 22 to 27 September, bringing together young professionals from around the world to compete in a wide range of trades and skills.

The Danish team will compete in disciplines including bricklaying, carpentry, cooking and restaurant service. Seven of the 15 competitors have previously taken part in international skills competitions, including EuroSkills in Herning in 2025.

Denmark performed strongly at the previous WorldSkills competition in Lyon in 2024. Kristian Bak Hansen won gold in Wall and Floor Tiling, while Birgitte Brunsgaard Jacobsen took bronze in Heavy Vehicle Technology. Denmark finished 14th among 70 participating countries.

The Embassy of Denmark in China said it will follow the Danish team during the competition and provide updates as the event approaches.
