All over the world, the Swedish Midsummer will celebrate the very awaited coming of the sun and light. It is probably one of the most Swedish celebrations, which traditionally includes dancing around the maypole – often in the national dress – the Swedish Smorgasbord and dancing, singing and laughing all through the clear lit night.
Naturally for Swedes Southeast Asia, the sun isn’t as longed for as in the home country (quite the opposite in some cases), but nonetheless Swedes in China has a chance to celebrate Midsummer with their likeminded.
On Friday the 22. of June at the Four Seasons in Shanghai, SwedCham China will be hosting the annual Midsummer party for Swedish expats looking for a very Swedish experience in the middle of all the rice and noodles.
SwedCham China writes:
“Every year 150 young professionals jostle for a seat at our table as the Four Seasons Hotel serve a world-class Swedish Smorgasbord. We gather to greet new friends or say goodbye to old ones. And for everyone staying in China over the summer our event represents a home away from home.
Join us in welcome summer with a Swedish midsummer buffet, free flow and after party at the terrace of Four Seasons Hotel!”
