The Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm has hosted a visit by the Thai Senate Standing Committee on Monitoring Budget Administration as part of a study trip to Sweden. On 17 November 2025, Ambassador Arurung Phothong Humphreys welcomed the delegation at the embassy, together with Minister Counsellor Pittara Navarat. The Thai committee was led by Asst. Prof. Alongkot Vorakee, Chairman of the Committee.

During the meeting at the embassy, the two sides discussed Thailand–Sweden relations, the embassy’s budget management, and ongoing activities and projects to promote Thailand’s soft power in Sweden. The discussions also covered the embassy’s work in providing care and protection for Thai nationals living in the country.

On 19 November 2025, the Ambassador and Minister Counsellor accompanied the Thai committee to the Swedish Parliament for talks with the Committee on Finance, led by Chair Edward Riedl. The meeting formed part of the Thai delegation’s programme to learn from Sweden’s experience in parliamentary budget oversight.

According to the embassy, the Swedish side shared insights on fiscal discipline, transparency, long-term policy alignment, monitoring of budget execution across government agencies, and the use of digital platforms to support the oversight role in implementing fiscal policy.
