A hot air balloon carrying tourists collided with power lines in Vang Vieng, Laos, during a sunset flight on March 26, according to a video shared by Newsflare.
The incident comes just weeks after authorities temporarily suspended all paramotor and hot air balloon flights in the area from late February to mid-March due to safety concerns following an earlier accident.
Mid-air drama during sunset flight
The passengers had booked a sunset ride over the popular tourist town when the balloon struck high-voltage cables during its descent, triggering a power outage affecting thousands of homes and businesses.
Dramatic footage shows the balloon tilting as it became entangled in the cables, while witnesses reported hearing passengers scream as the operator struggled to regain control.
No injuries were reported, but authorities have launched an investigation, according to Newsflare.
It remains unclear whether the latest incident will lead to further restrictions.
