Vietnam and Denmark highlight growing green partnership as ambassador ends term

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang and Danish ambassador Nicolai Prytz highlighted growing Vietnam–Denmark cooperation in trade, energy and green transition during a farewell meeting in Hanoi.

Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang met with Danish ambassador Nicolai Prytz on 19 May as the diplomat concluded his term in Vietnam.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted growing cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark in trade, energy, green transition and sustainable development.

According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, bilateral trade reached around 238.3 million$ in the first three months of 2026, marking a 47.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

The two sides also discussed the Vietnam–Denmark Energy Partnership Programme, which supports Vietnam’s renewable energy planning, offshore wind development and net-zero emissions goals for 2050.

Ambassador Prytz said Danish companies continue to view Vietnam as a key market, particularly in sectors such as energy, logistics, green infrastructure and sustainable manufacturing.
