After more than 20 years in Norway’s energy sector, Chinese energy expert Yang Tao has begun a new chapter as a distinguished professor at China University of Petroleum-Beijing.
Yang previously worked for the Norwegian energy company Equinor, where he focused on carbon capture, hydrogen, digital energy and other low-carbon technologies.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Yang described his appointment as “the beginning of a new mission.”
“I hope to serve as a bridge between China and Europe, promoting deeper cooperation in low-carbon technologies, carbon management, digital energy, hydrogen, bioenergy and emerging sustainable solutions,” he wrote.
Yang spent more than three decades in industry and research, including more than 20 years in Norway. Before joining Equinor, he also carried out postdoctoral research at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
