Chinese technology company ByteDance gained access to more than 2,000 Nvidia B200 AI chips through a data centre operated by UK-based AI infrastructure company Nscale in Norway, according to Tom’s Hardware.
The details emerged from an Nscale filing that also showed its Singaporean subsidiary, Spring, generated 73 percent of the company’s revenue in 2025.
The Norwegian data centre provided computing capacity using Nvidia’s B200 chips, one of the company’s most advanced AI processors. Access to the chips is notable because the United States restricts exports of advanced Nvidia AI chips to China.
Nscale operates AI infrastructure across several markets, with Norway and Singapore among its locations. Spring’s contribution to Nscale’s revenue highlights the importance of the Singapore operation to the company’s business.
The disclosure comes as demand for advanced AI computing capacity continues to grow, while companies face increasingly complex restrictions on the international supply of high-end AI chips.
