A tragic incident involving the death of a Norwegian expatriate occurred early yesterday morning, October 20, when responders found the 63-year-old man dead in his hotel room in Pattaya. The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre received a report shortly after 4 AM about a foreigner exhibiting alarming behavior and harming himself in a second-floor room on Soi 14.
When police and emergency responders arrived, they discovered a disturbing scene. The Norwegian expat lay naked and bleeding profusely from deep facial cuts in front of the bathroom. Blood stains and broken glass covered the bed, indicating a violent struggle. The chaotic scene raised immediate concerns about the circumstances leading to his injuries.
Rescue teams tried to control the bleeding and check for signs of life but found his pulse alarmingly weak. Despite their rapid response and efforts to rush him to the hospital, his pulse stopped en route, and paramedics pronounced him dead shortly after.
Witness accounts revealed that a hotel staff member, alerted by loud noises, unlocked the door to the room and discovered the Norwegian expat lying in a pool of blood. Initially, he could still speak, albeit incoherently, before collapsing into unconsciousness. This alarming situation prompted the staff to call emergency services immediately.
Authorities sent the body to Bang Lamung Hospital, where an autopsy will clarify the cause of death. Local police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident, including reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel. They aim to piece together the events that led to the Norwegian expat’s death.
