The Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm hosted a Thai cooking class and tasting lunch on 13 August 2026 to raise funds for underprivileged children in Thailand.
Organised in collaboration with the International Women’s Club of Stockholm, the event brought together members of Stockholm’s diplomatic community and the IWC at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence.
Thai Ambassador to Sweden Arunrung Phothong Humphreys said the event highlighted the role of food in Thai culture, including the importance of sharing and conversation around the dining table.
Participants learned how to prepare Pad Thai and chor muang, traditional flower-shaped Thai dumplings. A chef demonstrated the selection and preparation of ingredients before participants were invited to make the dishes themselves.
Proceeds from the event were donated to the Swedish Happy Child Foundation, which supports Happy Child Home in Phuket and works to provide disadvantaged children with a secure upbringing and access to education.
Swedish musician Viktor Norén also performed during the event.
The embassy thanked CT Food for supplying ingredients for the cooking demonstration and Thai cooking products for participants to take home.
