Vice President of Uhrenholt, Morten Staal Jonassen has received the Danish Export Association’s Diploma and HRH Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour in connection with a Business Gala Dinner, where HRH Crown Princess Mary presented the award. The nomination was endorsed by the management group of Uhrenholt in recognition of Morten Staal Jonassen’s outstanding contribution to the promotion and marketing of the Emborg brand in Asia.
Uhrenholt is a Danish food company, supplying products within the categories dairy, seafood, meat, and vegetables. With a representation in more than 20 countries and 660 employees worldwide, Uhrenholt is well on its way to establishing a global presence.
In 2005 the company acquired the well-known brand, Emborg, which is now marketed in 84 countries, and maintains a significantly strong position in Asia. Morten Staal Jonassen is one of the driving forces behind.
Morten Staal Jonassen started his career in Emborg Foods in 1996. In 2001 he travelled to Malaysia to set up Emborg’s representative office and drive sales in the region and is now Vice President of Uhrenholt Asia. He has since his arrival in Southeast Asia launched the Emborg brand into 12 new markets in order to foster continued business growth. Morten Staal Jonassen has developed a strong market and consumer insight with a deep cultural and diversity awareness.
Morten Staal Jonassen and the Uhrenholt team in Asia have over the last five years delivered double digit growth rates and have managed to make Uhrenholt the fastest growing cheese brand in selected countries in Southeast Asia 2012. The expectations for the future are high – the company aims for DKK 1/2 billion (RM 260 million) in turnover within the next years.
It is 18 years since the award last time was handed out in Malaysia.
