Danish Crown Princess gives gift from Lego to Malaysian School

The Crown Princess continued her busy schedule on the second day of her visit in Malaysia. At the Women Deliver conference  HRH attended a plenary session on “Global Progress on Family Planning – Putting Women at the Heart of the Global Health Agenda” where it was discussed how the Family Planning 2020 goals can be accomplished.

The Crown Princess hereafter visited a handicraft project and a community school for children of refugees from Myanmar, both of which are supported by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR). With great excitement of the children, The Crown Princess handed over a gift of LEGO from LEGO Charity. The children showed their appreciation by going straight to the boxes.

The Crown Princess further visited Women’s Institute of Management (WIM) and met marginalised single women, plantation women and Orang Asli women, that with the support of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) have been helped on in life after having experienced gender-based violence. As Patron to UNFPA, The Crown Princess was able to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the activities initiated to help and protect the women.
