A Danish gymnastics coach has shared his expertise with young athletes in Malaysia after leading a workshop in Sabah during a family holiday.

Jimmi Anderson conducted the training session in Kota Kinabalu for around 30 to 35 participants. The group included members of Sabah’s Sukma gymnastics team.

The workshop came about through Anderson’s connection with Sabah head coach Liew Tong Ee. The two previously studied at the same gymnastics school in Denmark.

Liew thanked Anderson for taking the time to coach the local athletes during his visit.

He said the session offered more than technical training. It also helped motivate the gymnasts and build their confidence.

According to Liew, Anderson introduced participants to the Danish approach to gymnastics coaching. He described the method as combining fun, challenges and meaningful interaction while developing key skills and mental preparation for competition.

Liew added that Sabah’s coaches also benefited from the workshop.

“As the head coach, we would like to thank him for sharing his experience and bringing joy and positive energy to the gym,” he said.
