Denmark is seeking to strengthen cooperation with Thailand in food, agriculture and fisheries as part of efforts to promote sustainable production and the green transition.
Henning Høy Nygaard, Regional Minister Counsellor at the Danish Embassy in Thailand, recently returned to Denmark for a series of meetings aimed at connecting Danish companies and experts with opportunities in Thailand and the wider Southeast Asian region.
During his visit, Nygaard took part in Fødevareklyngens Eksportdag 2026 at the Danish Technological Institute, an event bringing together companies, authorities and experts from Denmark’s food and agriculture sector.
The event focused on international markets, export opportunities and how Danish companies can respond to global challenges through innovation and collaboration. Nygaard also contributed to a session on aquaculture, bringing perspectives from Southeast Asia into discussions with Danish industry representatives.
According to the Danish Embassy, the meetings are part of broader efforts to develop partnerships around food security, sustainable production and green transition.
“Events like this are an important opportunity to bring regional perspectives into the Danish conversation,” Nygaard said, adding that they can help identify where Danish solutions and partnerships could create value in markets such as Thailand.
The embassy said it expects to build on the relationships established through the visit and further develop cooperation between Danish and Thai partners in food, agriculture and fisheries.
