Finnish ambassador discussed waste to energy technology with Vietnam

Finnish Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto with Nguyen Huong Giang, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of the northern province of Bac Ninh

Nguyen Huong Giang, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of the northern province of Bac Ninh hosted a meeting reception with the Finnish Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto, to discuss the treatment of waste issue, on 20th November 2019.

“Over the recent past, Finland has been cooperating with Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh province in in particular in various fields, especially waste treatment,” Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto said at the meeting.

“Embassy of Finland has been providing active support to Vietnam’s firms in implementing projects, the most recent is the waste-to-energy plant in Bac Ninh’s Que Vo district.”

“I hope that Bac Ninh leading officials will continue supporting and facilitating the early completion and commissioning of the project.”

“Every day, the province discharges about 870 tonnes of wastes from the daily life activities, and this figure will increase 10 percent annually. As a result, Bac Ninh is facing with the environmental pollution problem,” Chairwoman Giang announced

“I’d like to express my appreciation for Finland for all support, to the province.”

Chairwoman Giang added Bac Ninh authorities will create the best possible conditions for the project to be accelerated, completed and start operating.”
