Finnish biotechnology company AQ BioTech has raised €2.5 million in a seed funding round as it prepares to expand its business into China.
The funding will support the company’s international growth and the development of its next-generation biomarker discovery technology, according to the company.
AQ BioTech develops technology for biomarker discovery, which can help researchers identify biological indicators linked to diseases and other health conditions. The company aims to use its technology to support drug development and more personalised approaches to healthcare.
As part of its expansion plans, AQ BioTech is targeting the Chinese market, where it sees opportunities to develop partnerships and grow its presence in the country’s biotechnology sector.
The new funding will also be used to further develop the company’s technology and support its continued growth.
The funding round adds to a growing number of Nordic companies looking towards China as a market for biotechnology, healthcare and other technology-driven industries.
