Finnish technology company Valmet has signed an agreement to supply quality-control systems for two tissue-paper production projects in Vietnam.

The agreement was signed in Tampere, Finland, between Valmet, its Vietnamese partner ATZ Solutions and Vietnamese paper producer KORO. Representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Finland and the Vietnam Paper and Pulp Association attended the signing.

Valmet and ATZ Solutions will provide two Valmet Quality Control Systems (QCS) for KORO’s tissue-paper projects. The systems are designed to improve production quality and efficiency while reducing the use of energy and fuel.

A separate memorandum of understanding was also signed between ATZ Solutions and Vietnamese company Mizu Paper. It covers potential cooperation on future tissue-paper projects, including paper-making machinery, automation, quality-control systems and technical services.

The agreements were signed during a visit to Finland by a delegation from the Vietnam Paper and Pulp Association. The delegation also met with the Vietnamese Embassy to discuss closer cooperation with Finnish companies in paper production and related technologies.

The embassy said it would continue to support business links between Finnish and Vietnamese companies.
