A man suspected of four cases of rape in Sweden has been caught and arrested in Thailand on 8 June 2017, says the Swedish Prosecution Authority.
The 38-year-old man is suspected of commiting four cases of rape that took place on several locations in Sweden in the period of 17-19 May 2017. The suspected offender has been internationally wanted as a sex offender, and were therefore caught in Thailand.
“It is true that the suspected man was arrested in Thailand today. I can not reveal further circumstances about the arrest itself. Now the process begins to get him handed over to Sweden,” said Prosecutor Karl-Erik Antonsson, Investigator at the Swedish Prosecution Authority in Örebro.
