A promotion event in Beijing has highlighted growing cooperation between China and Norway ahead of Norway’s role as Guest Country of Honor at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2026.
Held on June 16, the event brought together representatives from the Norwegian Embassy in China, Chinese authorities, and business organisations to strengthen ties in services trade and prepare Norway’s participation in the upcoming fair.
Delegates visited the CIFTIS venue at Shougang Park and the Lize Business District to assess facilities and explore cooperation opportunities.
Officials from both sides emphasized the potential for deeper collaboration in areas such as green energy, digital technology, healthcare, and premium nutrition.
Norway’s representative at the embassy said the country will present a national pavilion showcasing its key industries and hopes to attract more Norwegian companies to the Chinese market through the platform.
Chinese officials, including representatives from Beijing’s Fengtai District, encouraged Norwegian companies to use CIFTIS 2026 as a gateway to partnerships and market entry.
The fair will take place in September 2026 in Beijing and is expected to include exhibitions, forums, and matchmaking events aimed at boosting international services trade cooperation.
