Norwegian duo Kings of Convenience will return to the Philippines for the first time in 16 years, with a concert scheduled at PICC Plenary Hall on November 20, ABS-CBN reports.
The pair last performed in the country in 2010. Their return places them back in front of Filipino audiences more than a decade after their earlier shows, which helped build a dedicated following for their soft, acoustic sound.
Formed in Bergen, Norway, Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe first met in high school and began performing together in the late 1990s. Their international breakthrough came with Quiet Is the New Loud in 2001, followed by Riot on an Empty Street in 2004, both albums that helped define a wave of minimalist indie pop built on gentle guitar work and close harmonies.
Their later releases, including Declaration of Dependence and 2021’s Peace or Love, continued that restrained musical style.
Tickets for the Manila show are priced at P6,100 for SVIP, P5,330 for VIP, and P4,230 for Loge. Sales begin June 19 via Tickelo, with a maximum of four tickets per transaction, all within the same tier.
For many fans, the upcoming concert marks a rare chance to see a duo known for intimate, quietly emotional performances return to a stage they last visited well over a decade ago.
