Representative from Swedish Embassy speaks at Philippines-EU conference

Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Sweden spoke at a conference between the Philippine government and the European Union.

Officials from the Philippine government and the European Union (EU) meet on 29 August to discussed ways on how to strenghten Philippines – EU relations.

Among the speakers was Lennart Jansson, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Sweden in Manila, who spoke about Sweden’s commitment to promoting the 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The SDGs are a collection of global goals set by the United Nations Development Programme. They cover social and economic development issues such as poverty, hunger, health, education, global and warming.

The Officials from the Philippine government were Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Enrique Manalo, Philippine Ambassador to the EU Eduardo Jose de Vega, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, Peace Adviser Jesus Dureza) and from the EU European Union Ambassador Franz Jessen and Ambassador James Moran.

Stakeholders from government, the business sector, the academe, NGOs and CSOs also attend the conference.
