Singapore has been ranked the world’s most AI-ready nation, followed closely by Denmark, according to the 2025 AI Maturity Index released by U.S. online learning provider Coursera.
The index, which evaluated 109 countries, highlighted Singapore’s strong performance across AI and technology, business, and data science, while Denmark secured the second spot, ahead of Switzerland in third place.
Experts point to government initiatives such as Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0 and SkillsFuture programs as driving forces behind the city-state’s rapid adoption of artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, Denmark’s position reflects its highly digitised economy and strong emphasis on research and innovation in AI.
The ranking underscores how both Singapore and Denmark are emerging as frontrunners in AI readiness, with their approaches to education, upskilling, and digital policy serving as models for other nations.
