Chargé d’affaires Per Linnér represented Sweden at the Thailand Security Dialogue 2025, held in Bangkok under the theme “Peace and Security in a Global Disruption.”

Now in its second edition, the dialogue gathered government officials, military officers, diplomats, academics and think tanks to exchange views on global power competition, regional security, and emerging threats in an increasingly complex world.

General Songwit Noonpakdee, Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, joined the discussions and shared Thailand’s security outlook with fellow participants.

The Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok highlighted that Sweden is proud to work closely with Thailand on security and defence matters, as part of the country’s broader policy direction for cooperation with Indo-Pacific nations.

This meeting comes after the controversial Gripen-deal was signed by Sweden and Thailand last week.
