Thai air conditioner exports to Finland and Sweden have increased sharply this year as hotter weather creates greater demand for cooling in Europe.
Exports to Finland rose by 367 percent compared with the same period last year, while exports to Sweden increased by 177 percent, according to Thailand’s Trade Policy and Strategy Office.
Bangkok Post reports that Thailand exported air conditioners worth $784 million from January to May this year. That was 18.9 percent more than during the same period in 2025.
The increase comes as Europe has experienced unusually hot weather. More European households are also buying air conditioners that can work as heat pumps, providing both cooling and heating.
Thailand’s Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) sees Europe as an important market for future growth. The office said Thai manufacturers must adapt to strict European rules on energy efficiency, environmental standards and refrigerants.
Demand for Thai air conditioners in Europe is expected to remain strong during the third quarter of 2026.
