Third Philippine Cultural Day set for 5 July in Copenhagen

The Filipino community in Denmark is gearing up for the third annual Philippine Cultural Day, taking place on Saturday 5 July 2025 at Rådhuspladsen in the heart of Copenhagen.

Organised by the Philippine Embassy in Denmark in collaboration with KaLiPi and supported by Filipino community groups and sponsors, the event promises a vibrant celebration of Filipino culture, heritage, and community spirit.

Last year’s edition drew crowds with its colourful mix of traditional dance, martial arts, live music, and cultural showcases. The 2024 programme included performances such as Silong sa Ganding, Tinikling, and Filipino Martial Arts demonstrations by KILOS and PIOMA. Visitors also enjoyed song performances, interactive presentations on Philippine traditions, and a wide selection of Filipino street food from popular vendors like My Kusina, Eveth’s, and CateChing.

This year’s event on 5 July will follow a similar format, with cultural performances, food booths opening from 11:00, and a formal programme beginning at 12:00. Martial arts group KILOS has confirmed their return with a demonstration of Arnis, Kali, and Eskrima at approximately 14:00.

Community leader PhemyLou Piamonte and groups such as the Philippine Harmony Society of Denmark are also calling on the Filipino diaspora and Danish friends to come together in a celebration of unity, identity, and pride.

“Let’s come together as one global Filipino family to celebrate our culture, heritage, and resilience,” organisers say.
