Two Nordic representatives on the board of Eurocham Vietnam

EuroCham Vietnam announced yesterday, 24 March 2025, its new 17-member executive board for the 2025 term. The Board included two representatives from the Nordic region: Ms. Rita Mokbel, president & CEO of Ericsson Vietnam, and Mr. Søren Roed Pedersen, CEO of Julie Sandlau Vietnam.

The inclusion of high-ranking Nordic executives in EuroCham’s leadership reflects the deepening economic ties between the Nordic region and Vietnam. Nordic companies are increasingly expanding their investments in key sectors such as technology, sustainable manufacturing, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and bilateral trade.

In the technology and digital transformation sector, Nordic companies such as Ericsson (Sweden), Nokia (Finland), and Telenor (Norway) have played a pivotal role in developing Vietnam’s telecommunications infrastructure and 5G network. These firms not only provide cutting-edge connectivity solutions but also support Vietnam’s digital transition.

Renewable energy has emerged as a focal point of collaboration between the Nordic region and Vietnam. Companies like Ørsted (Denmark), Vestas (Denmark), and Equinor (Norway) have made substantial investments in offshore wind projects, contributing to Vietnam’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

In sustainable manufacturing, Julie Sandlau Vietnam (Denmark) is a pioneer in recycled jewelry production. Meanwhile, LEGO (Denmark) is constructing a carbon-neutral factory in Binh Duong-an iconic project representing Nordic businesses’ commitment to sustainable development in Vietnam. Other leading Nordic firms, including Novo Nordisk (Denmark) in pharmaceuticals, Grundfos (Denmark) in water technology, and Pandora (Denmark) in jewelry manufacturing, are actively expanding their presence in Vietnam with green growth strategies.

EuroCham and NorCham (the Nordic Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam) are expected to strengthen cooperation to foster a transparent, sustainable, and innovative business environment. The growing presence of Nordic businesses in EuroCham not only underscores their increasing influence in the Vietnamese market but also paves the way for new collaboration opportunities, boosting trade, investment, and sustainable development between the two regions.

Vietnam is becoming a strategic destination for Nordic businesses, thanks to its strong economic growth and investment-friendly policies in high-tech industries, clean energy, and sustainable manufacturing. The presence of Nordic representatives in EuroCham’s leadership will further enhance connectivity between businesses from both regions, driving forward new initiatives for future cooperation.
