Vietnam has become the fastest-growing market for Norwegian salmon in Southeast Asia, with strong demand expected to continue through 2026, Vietnam Plus reports.
Fresh salmon exports to Vietnam rose 16% in the first two months of the year, while frozen salmon shipments surged 37% compared with the same period in 2025.
This follows a robust 2025, when fresh exports reached nearly 7,900 tonnes, up 40% from the previous year.
The growth reflects Vietnam’s rising household spending and appetite for premium proteins, making Norwegian salmon a regular feature on local tables.
The Norwegian Seafood Council is focusing on deepening partnerships with Vietnamese trade players, promoting sustainable growth, and strengthening brand presence under the “Seafood from Norway” banner.
The efforts coincide with the 55th anniversary of Norway-Vietnam diplomatic ties, highlighting decades of steady cooperation.
